Jesus had a divine qppointment with that woman to draw her to the truth. its funny he had to send his disciples away on an errand so he could have that one on one time with her. They were still being trained up and their prejudice against the samritans and women disqualified them from this opportunity (v27 they were amazed that he had been speaking with a woman).
I wondered how they behaved in town getting bread. Were they worried about worldly things-how much bread to buy; which brand to get, wonder or orowheat, haggling over the cost, or were they representing Jesus in love. It says later in the text many of the samaritans believed because of what the woman has said- not what the disciples had said.
Thats what is so awesome about the bible is that we can learn from not only good examples like jesus but sometimes we can identify more with bad examples. i need to look at my own life and see where my personal prejudice and the worries of the world are blowing up divine opportunities.
